Requirements From your PASSION to ours Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Laboratory Technician based in Belmont, Wisconsin. Laboratory team members work in Quality Assurance laboratory performing physical and microbiological testing on raw materials, work in process, and finished goods. Candidate must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required).
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Tests all raw materials, in-process/byproducts, and finished products specific to Sample Analysis Reference Table
Performs tests and provides results in a timely manner
Reports out-of-specification results to Laboratory Supervisor, the Quality Control Office, and Production Supervision when appropriate
Records test results on appropriate form, in computer database, or in logbook
Checks samples that yield out-of-specification results and records appropriately
Works closely with the production and laboratory staff
Maintains a clean and orderly working environment
Maintains State Regulatory Logs as needed
Aware of and practices Plant's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as well as Good Sanitation Practices (GSP)
Obtains all appropriate machine certification from New York State within six months of employment
Upholds all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products and recipes
Performs other work duties as requested by the Laboratory Supervisor
Attends departmental meetings and in‑services as required
Performs all duties according to safety standards and as required to ensure the general safety of all other staff
From your STORY to ours
Education:
High School Diploma/GED required
Laboratory Science Technical Diploma; Bachelor of Science in Dairy/Food Science preferred
Experience:
Experience in laboratory analysis in the dairy or food industry preferred
Stable and dependable work history is required
Specialized Knowledge:
Specialized understanding of microbiology and chemistry
Good analytical and mathematical skills
Skills/Abilities:
Attention to detail and accuracy in work required
Personal qualities of tack and dependability and ability to work well with others required
Strong communication abilities, written and verbal
Knowledge of computer software required
Sign On Bonus & Pay:
We are offering a
$2,000 Hiring Bonus
to candidates for hourly positions. *Bonus amount is a gross amount. $1000 will be paid out in the following paycheck, 90 days after hire; an additional $1000 will be paid out in the following paycheck, 180 days after hire. Temporary, part‑time, and certain rehired employees are not eligible.
Pay:
$23.95/hour + $2.00 2nd shift differential
Hours:
1:30 pm – 9:30 pm (times may vary)
