You will join GMV’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) team in the U.S., contributing to solutions that ensure the safe and sustainable use of space.

What Challenge Will You Be Taking On? As a Junior Space Domain Awareness Engineer, you will support the development and implementation of GMV’s software systems for Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST), and Space Traffic Management (STM).

This position is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career engineers who have completed relevant coursework, projects, or internships in astrodynamics, software development, or space systems engineering.

What Do We Need in Our Team? We are looking for engineers with background and interest in Space Surveillance and Traffic Management.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and test software tools and algorithms for orbit determination, collision avoidance, and space object catalog management.

Support software design, verification, and integration for SDA-related applications, primarily using Python (experience with C++ or Java is a plus).

Analyze orbital data, contribute to conjunction assessment, and maneuver planning studies.

Participate in multidisciplinary team efforts, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and project managers in the U.S. and abroad.

Contribute to documentation, reports, and presentations describing technical results and project progress.

Maintain awareness of new trends in space safety, astrodynamics, and data processing technologies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Academic or project experience in orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, or space engineering.

Solid programming skills in Python, including data analysis, scientific libraries, and version control (Git or similar).

Fundamental understanding of orbit propagation, space environment modeling, and mission design.

Ability to work independently, stay organized, and collaborate in a team‑oriented technical environment.

Strong written comprehension and technical documentation ability.

Preferred Qualifications

Internship or research experience related to Space Domain Awareness, Flight Dynamics, or Space Traffic Management.

Knowledge of C++, Java, or scripting languages for scientific computing.

Experience with astrodynamics software tools or numerical libraries used for orbit propagation and analysis.

Familiarity with statistical methods and their application to orbit estimation or space data processing.

Understanding of optimization methods for maneuver design or collision avoidance.

Knowledge of systems engineering concepts and software testing workflows.

Experience with cloud‑based or containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.

Spanish language proficiency is considered a plus but not required.

Candidate must be able to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
