Field Service Technician – PepsiCo Equipment Services Pay:

PBNA $27.67 / hour

Location:

Albany, NY

Overview A skilled position responsible for installation, set‑up, repair, and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling, and fountain equipment at customer accounts. Diagnoses equipment problems, uses judgment to determine the best repair or replacement, works independently, and engages frequently with customers.

Responsibilities

Repair and perform preventive maintenance on marketing equipment.

Unload and reload products as necessary.

Install equipment (make holes, route lines, connect water and gas supply, locate drains for units with ice; build racks for box syrup; fill equipment and adjust mixtures).

Prioritize and schedule service and PM calls to meet customer service windows.

Drive to locations, evaluate situations, and perform required work (plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, carpentry).

Collect accurate equipment and customer information.

Remove old parts and replace with new parts.

Maintain parts inventory on the service truck.

Establish positive relationships with contacts at service calls.

Complete paperwork after each call and submit forms every two hours.

Transport miscellaneous items (e.g., compressors for repair/scrap, cardboard for recycling).

Ensure regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Basic Qualifications

18 years or older.

21 years or older if CDL required.

Valid U.S. CDL license with Non‑Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable).

Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road‑test (if required) and adhere to DOT regulations.

Senior technicians must hold refrigeration certification (Type I/Type II practices if applicable).

Ability to communicate effectively in English if CDL required.

Helpful Experience

Experience with mechanical systems – troubleshooting and repairing appliances, plumbing, circuits, fuses, electrical components, hand tools, and power tools.

Customer service experience – resolving issues, communicating with store managers, following up on requests.

Familiarity with refrigeration systems – understanding the cycle, Freon, compressors, evaporators, and condensers.

Electrical systems knowledge – wiring, outlets, and power flow.

Plumbing skills – drains, water supply, ice makers, shut‑off valves, copper sweating, and filtration systems.

Experience generating and setting work schedules.

Equipment installation – HVAC, refrigeration, automotive, copiers, fountain products, and more.
