The Medical College of Georgia's Department of Emergency Medicine at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The position involves instruction, oversight, and academic progress of Emergency Medicine residents, Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows, and medical students. Active clinical participation, resident education, and scholarly activities are required.
Responsibilities
Clinical: Work clinically in the Emergency Department, 13‑15 9‑hour shifts per month, take 1‑2 calls per month; internal moonlighting allowed per departmental guidelines.
Academic: Participate in the instruction, oversight, and academic progress of EM residents, Pediatric EM fellows, and medical students; complete timely, formal evaluations as needed; actively participate in resident, medical student, and fellow education concurrent with patient care.
Qualifications
MD, DO or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Emergency Medicine residency trained; Board‑eligible or certified in Emergency Medicine.
Active licence to practice in Georgia or meeting all eligibility requirements.
Assistant Professor: early‑career faculty with appropriate postgraduate training; Associate Professor: mid‑career faculty with at least five years as Assistant Professor; Professor: senior‑career faculty with at least five years as Associate Professor.
Consistent with SACSCOC institutional accreditation requirements; evidence of teaching, scholarship, and service; desirable personal qualities as assessed by interview and references.
Shift, Salary and Benefits The position is full‑time, fiscal‑year based, and works year‑round at 1.0 FTE. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds.
