Caris Life Sciences Position Summary The Molecular Technologist Solid Tumor is responsible for performing high complexity molecular techniques, including nucleic acid extractions and next generation sequencing (NGS). This position works under the direction of the supervisor and follows standard laboratory procedures and policies. Job Responsibilities

Follows established laboratory protocols governed by standard operating procedures (SOPs). Performs molecular techniques with proficiency: nucleic acid extraction; quantification and normalization; PCR; DNA methylation analysis; and next generation sequencing (NGS). Operates and maintains liquid handling robots. Maintains laboratory equipment, accessories and instruments used in clinical processing by performing routine maintenance. Prepares Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documents for nonconformance events observed during the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical clinical laboratory testing. Performs Proficiency Testing in a timely manner and submits results to supervisors. Participates in continuous process improvements and validations. Proficiency in the Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) tracking system to accurately perform and record day-to-day tasks. Performs high complexity tests authorized by the laboratory director and aligned with the individuals education, training, technical abilities and experience. Follows the laboratorys procedures for specimen handling and processing. Adheres to and documents all the laboratorys quality control policies and activities. Performs instrument maintenance and procedural calibrations. Follows the laboratorys established policies and procedures when test systems are not within validated performance levels. Identifies problems that may affect test performance or reporting of results and takes appropriate action or notifies the supervisor, manager or director. Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications. Performs high complexity testing under onsite, direct supervision of a general supervisor as defined in CLIA regulations. Accepts other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

We are seeking to hire a Molecular Technologist with varying levels of experience. Molecular Technologist I Entry level with Bachelors degree in a scientific field required; may have less than 1 year of relevant work experience. Molecular Technologist II 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree and/or 0 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree. Molecular Technologist III 4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree and/or 2 years with a Masters degree. Molecular Technologist IV 6 years relevant experience with BS; 4 years with MS. Bachelors or Masters degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Demonstrate skills in technical data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general internet proficiency; skilled in operating office equipment. Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Nucleic acid extraction experience. Next Generation Sequencing experience. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for biohazards and chemicals, as well as quality control procedures and regulations. Physical Demands

Will work at a computer and use office equipment as part of daily tasks. Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail; ability to pass a visual color discrimination test. Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods; ability to perform repetitive motions. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and biohazardous materials/chemicals; formaldehyde, xylene, DAB and alcohol may be present. Other
