License & Permit Supervisor
– Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
MDT is recruiting for a
CMV Services Manager
to work closely with the Commercial Vehicle Operations Bureau Chief. The role focuses on developing solutions to procedural problems and achieving short- and long-term operational goals for the Division and Department. Responsibilities include evaluating current processes, proposing innovative solutions, and overseeing commercial vehicle permitting, titling, registration through the International Registration Plan (IRP), fuel tax reporting, Unified Carrier Registration (UCR), IRS Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) compliance, and day‑to‑day oversight of Montana’s commercial vehicle permitting.

Required Education and Experience
Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years of experience in License and Permit related field or business administration, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or team‑lead role
Alternative qualifications include any combination of additional related work experience and education equivalent to the minimum qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced principles and practices of office management, supervisory practices, and personnel management; understanding of state and federal rules and regulations
Proficiency with personal computers and related software; problem‑solving techniques and system analysis and design procedures
Ability to organize and work with many details on numerous projects simultaneously; prioritize work and supervise and direct others by providing clear plans, direction, training, and motivation
