Software Engineer (Medical Device)

Join Dopl Technologies as a Software Engineer focused on next?generation telerobotic ultrasound systems. Dopl is redefining remote robotic care delivery, combining robotics, AI, and spatial computing to improve access to diagnostic and interventional care. About the Role

This role is highly collaborative and cross?functional, bridging engineering excellence with design control. You will be the technical voice ensuring that every line of code, requirement, and test aligns with regulatory submission readiness. You will contribute to system architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of software components that connect complex hardware systems. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain software for medical devices and supporting systems. Collaborate with hardware, quality, regulatory and clinical teams to ensure product safety and compliance. Lead or participate in software design reviews, code reviews and formal risk assessments; ensure traceability of design outputs. Ensure compliance with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA 21?CFR Part?820, and QMSR. Support verification and validation planning and execution (unit, integration, system testing). Create and maintain documentation for regulatory submissions: specifications, test plans, design history. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to improve performance and reliability. Drive continuous improvement of development processes, configuration management, and quality system integrations.

Qualifications

Experience developing software for medical devices or other regulated industries. Proficiency in C++, Python, or NodeJS. Working knowledge of software development life cycle and regulatory standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971). Strong analytical, documentation and problem?solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field (Masters preferred). Experience with cloud?connected or mobile medical devices. Familiarity with cybersecurity and data privacy requirements for medical software. Knowledge of usability engineering per IEC 62366 and FDA cybersecurity guidance.

Compensation

$80,000 $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits
