Position: Sr. Project / Master Scheduler

Job Description

The individual will serve as the Master Scheduler responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing a comprehensive Microsoft Project schedule for a complex, high-visibility, initiative.

Experienced Senior Master Scheduler - individual will have strong Microsoft Project Management experience working in large cross functional programs.

Responsible for facilitating discussions and building initial implementation programs - and setting standards for technical stakeholders.

Ensuring alignment across scheduling, facilitation, standardization, and establishing standards for portfolio management for Microsoft Project.

Build and maintain the master scheduler in Microsoft Project.

Incorporate inputs from multiple workstreams into a single integrated schedule.

Extensive experience with Agile Waterfall hybrid methodology.

Experience required in client/customer facing and creating standard custom reports to meet stakeholder communication needs.

Extensive experience required: Very Large Complex Health Insurance Programs – majorly focusing on scheduling Programs ("insurance payers program").

The scheduler ensures alignment across business, architecture, policy, stakeholder engagement, strategy, and governance functions required for successful implementation and launch.

The scheduler creates and provides standard and custom schedule views and reporting for different stakeholder groups (business, technical, external, executive) to support decision-making, risk management, status communication, and ultimate delivery of project outcomes.

Bachelor's Degree (Project Management, Business or related field).

5 years experience with project scheduling with Microsoft Project.

Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).

PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or Microsoft Project Certifications.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Ability to exercise good judgment.

Project planning and life cycle development.

Essential Functions

40% Schedule Development and Maintenance – Build and maintain the master scheduler, incorporate inputs from multiple workstreams, establish and maintain dependencies, milestones, critical paths, baselines, and task status, and facilitate discussions required to progressively elaborate schedule details.

25% Schedule Analysis and Reporting – Track progress against baseline schedule, highlight variances, and perform "what-if" analysis to evaluate impacts of changes or risks.

20% Stakeholder Engagement and Communication – Facilitate schedule reviews with project manager, business/technical leads, and leadership, collaborate across teams to gather updates and validate assumptions, and create standard and custom reports to meet stakeholder communication needs.

15% Governance and risk support – Ensure schedule activities align with program governance requirements, maintain version control and document changes, and support schedule risk management and mitigation planning.
