Highway Civil Engineer
– Kleinfelder
Join our collaborative Design Services team to design highway and urban roadway projects in our Hunt Valley, MD office. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to impact major transportation initiatives while working closely with architects, bridges, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals.
Responsibilities
Design highway and roadway projects incorporating multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban street roadway designs, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements.
Provide technical expertise throughout project lifecycle from initial conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design and construction.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to produce integrated project deliverables.
Prepare detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that specifications, reports, and analysis meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
3‑6 years of design experience in the highway transportation field.
Engineer‑in‑Training certification required.
Professional Engineer license, or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN.
Experience with projects for State Agency Transportation Departments.
