Program Summary The KBR UABOS Program provides comprehensive BASE OPERATING SUPPORT – INSTALLATION (BOS‑I) services at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. These services support the 39th Air Base Wing, mission partners, and tenant units, including transient, temporary duty (TDY), permanent party, and rotational personnel. The program ensures seamless operations, maintenance, and support activities essential for sustaining mission readiness and operational effectiveness.
Job Summary UABOS (Turkey) Corrosion Control and Cathodic Protection Engineer
is responsible for Corrosion Control and Cathodic Protection Systems, developing design solutions to rectify deficiencies. The role involves ensuring metal structures and pipelines integrity and longevity through effective corrosion control measures. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects and protect critical assets, aligned with U.S. Air Force standards.
Roles And Responsibilities
Create systems to protect metal structures, fuel pipes, etc., from corrosion.
Perform corrosion surveys and inspections to assess structure condition.
Oversee the installation of cathodic protection systems, ensuring proper setup.
Monitor and maintain systems to ensure effective operation.
Collect and analyze data to monitor system performance.
Prepare reports documenting status of corrosion protection systems and necessary adjustments.
Plan and manage cathodic protection projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
Ensure all designs and operations comply with relevant safety and industry standards (e.g., NACE/AMPP).
Develop safety protocols for cathodic protection systems.
Perform, lead, and document basic to intermediate cathodic protection testing and/or inspection services.
Provide technical advice to clients and in‑house maintenance personnel on corrosion issues and protection strategies.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of verifiable cathodic protection and design experience.
Minimum 2 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
Must have working knowledge of Cathodic Protection systems and be certified by NACE (CP3 or CP4).
Proficient in cathodic protection design software and testing equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or similar software.
Experience in planning, programming, scoping, and executing multi‑discipline facility and infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of electrical and corrosion control principles.
Familiarity with NACE, ISO, and other industry standards related to cathodic protection and corrosion control.
Able to perform basic to intermediate commissioning activities.
Knowledge of design functions and parameters.
Experience in developing and executing multi‑discipline construction projects, evaluating contract schedules, and preparing construction reports.
Class B (passenger vehicle) driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as Cathodic Protection Technologist (CP4).
6 years of project engineering experience for major real property facilities.
6 years of experience in design and management of construction projects.
DoD installation-level experience.
Familiarity with American and Turkish facility design standards.
Familiarity with engineering principles, materials, specification writing, USAF contracting procedures, engineering equipment, and surveying essential.
Familiarity with construction practices in host nation (HN).
