Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer Acara Solutions seeks an Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer for our client in Scottsdale, AZ who specializes in Defense manufacturing.

Pay $65.00/hr – $72.00/hr DOE

Type Contract to hire

Responsibilities

Responsible for definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC or FPGA developments.

Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approach.

Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation.

Evaluate the process flow, including high‑level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization.

Create test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria.

Verify test results and analyze performance.

Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools.

Participate in improving the ASIC/FPGA organizational processes.

Support the generation of technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the ASIC/FPGA development life cycle.

Contribute to research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposal specifications and manuals, to determine feasibility of design or application.

Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.

Provide leadership and/or direction to lower‑level employees.

Determine solutions independently.

Contribute to the completion of major programs and projects.

Plan and execute project tasks for activities described above.

Required Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Active Security Clearance.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ASIC/FPGA Engineer.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

Master’s Degree.

Highly proficient use and understanding of ASIC/FPGA engineering concepts, principles, and theories.

Highly proficient in the principles and techniques of ASIC/FPGA design.

Highly proficient understanding of ASIC/FPGA processes.

Highly proficient knowledge of related disciplines.

Keeps abreast of technology trends.

Has high business awareness and ability to align engineering with business objectives.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Highly proficient in ASIC/FPGA design tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to think creatively.

Ability to multitask.

Effective communication of issues, impacts, and corrective actions.

Ability to recognize and report relevant design information concisely.

Experience developing and selling concepts and ideas.

Regular interaction with senior project leaders and cross‑functional teams.

Occasional external customer contact.

Additional Information

Upon offer, subject to a background check and drug screen.

Verification of identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
