The People & Culture Systems Analyst, Benefits will serve as a subject matter expert in implementing and maintaining the benefits systems. They will support the day‑to‑day administration of our Health and Welfare benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability, group travel, group legal, identity theft protection, cancer services, pet insurance, LTC, backup dependent care, workers comp, life, AD&D, and flexible spending plans. The role may also involve leave administration, benefit analysis for M&A opportunities, implementation of new benefit initiatives and completion of benefit survey questionnaires.

Job Duties

Act as the subject matter expert on benefits systems, identifying gaps, issues and providing resolutions for system improvements.

Analyze technology trends that best fit business needs.

Provide assistance to employees, partners, retirees and COBRA participants on benefit‑related questions, researching issues and interpreting benefit policies.

Assist with due diligence of benefit programs for M&A opportunities, providing detailed comparative financial benefit analysis.

Monitor and audit all benefit plan data sent to carriers and maintain strong relationships with carriers and payroll department.

Assist the Leave of Absence Administrator with leave requests, FMLA documentation, and maintenance of records.

Maintain data integrity for all benefit programs offered to employees, partners, retirees and COBRA participants.

Assist in creating and implementing new benefit initiatives, including annual open enrollment, wellness plan design and benefits system capabilities.

Review plans and stay current on ACA, HIPAA and other compliance requirements for health and welfare plans.

Participate in benefits survey questionnaires and submit to third‑party consultants.

Document and maintain administrative procedures for benefit processes.

Research and prepare ACA reporting, monthly plan financial reporting and compile metrics for detailed benefits analysis and make recommendations to leadership.

Participate in People & Culture Projects and perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Finance.

Experience:

3+ years of benefits/HR experience; prior experience with benefits system administration and implementation; accuracy of data and system testing required; experience with self‑insured health care plans preferred.

Advanced Excel skills

preferred.

Certifications (preferred):

CEBS, PHR.

Software:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Oracle HCM preferred.

Other Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication; knowledge of federal and state regulations (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, Social Security, DOL); strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities; ability to work independently and in a team; confidentiality and discretion; strong HR policy knowledge.

Salary Range:

National: $75,000 – $80,000; Maryland: $75,000 – $80,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $75,000 – $80,000.
