Job Summary
As our
first Financial Controller , you’ll be the cornerstone of our accounting function — building scalable processes, ensuring
GAAP-compliant
financial reporting, and partnering with leadership to guide strategic growth. This role can be based from either our Seattle or SF offices.
You’re a hands‑on accounting leader with
SaaS industry
and
startup experience , a mastery of
US GAAP
and
ASC 606 , and the ability to thrive in high‑growth, fast‑changing environments. If you’ve led
ERP implementations , managed audits, and built accounting teams from the ground up, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Own and optimize
month‑end, quarter‑end, and annual close processes to ensure
accurate, GAAP‑compliant
reporting.
Oversee compliance and filings for
federal, state, and local income taxes
as well as
sales tax .
Manage relationships with external partners ( accountants, auditors, bankers, insurance carriers, tax advisors ).
Lead completion of our
first external audit
and maintain ongoing compliance.
Oversee billing operations and the
quote‑to‑cash
process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a smooth
SaaS customer
experience.
Implement scalable accounting systems and automation to
shorten close cycles .
Drive improvements in internal controls, accounting procedures, and
SaaS financial systems .
Partner cross‑functionally with
Sales, RevOps, Legal, People, and FP&A
to support growth.
Mentor our
Staff Accountant
and help build a high‑performance accounting team.
Qualifications
8–12+ years total accounting experience, including
public accounting
(Big 4 or similar) and
in‑house SaaS startup
roles.
Deep knowledge of
US GAAP ,
ASC 606 , revenue recognition for
subscription‑based businesses , and multi‑entity/multi‑currency accounting.
Proven success leading
fast monthly closes , managing external audits, and implementing scalable processes.
ERP experience ( NetSuite strongly preferred ) plus finance tech stack familiarity (billing, rev rec, AP automation, expenses).
CPA strongly preferred; public company or
SOX
exposure is a plus.

Compensation The base salary range for this position in the Seattle and SF areas is $135,000‑190,000 annually plus company equity. Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
