Overview
Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Project Controls Engineer in San Diego to support the North City Pure Water Facility Project, part of the PURE program to upgrade San Diego's water treatment system. This position provides long-term growth opportunity and is responsible for updating and maintaining the P6 schedule, monthly cost reports, weekly labor cost reports, monthly pricing, and related functions to support this complex project. Provide objective analysis and sound judgment to evaluate and report project performance from concept study to construction and startup, including practical assessment of schedule completion and expected final cost. Set up and manage project controls systems (including work breakdown structure), capture to-date progress and expenditure data, analyze performance data, forecast at-completion performance (EAC costs, hours), assess project risks, manage change, and incorporate scope variations into schedule and cost deliverables; prepare related reports. Monitor and control cost and schedule performance for projects across the organization; work with company financial systems and processes. Develop proficiency in company cornerstone systems and provide cost data in formats necessary to control the project. Understand financial terminology and measures; analyze financial data to identify key project issues; assemble data for trending and forecasting. Prepare analyses of progress trends and cost impacts; participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices; apply earned value methodology. Collect and analyze data on manpower, labor hours, and labor costs relative to budget; track actual costs to funding limitations; track purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Assist with baseline budgets, scope control, change management, and data for procedure development; support project reporting and cost review meetings. Exposure to scheduling concepts and performance management integrating cost and schedule. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering or related field + minimum of 4 years of relevant project controls experience or demonstrated equivalency. Heavy civil construction project experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience involving Water/Wastewater treatment plant construction projects. Additional Information

$115,000 - $150,000
per year, depending on experience and/or education.
