Senior Wireless and Algorithm Design Engineer Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!

E‑Space

is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper‑scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly‑advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems. We’re intentional, unapologetically curious and 100% committed to innovating space‑based communications and delivering actionable intelligence that expands global economies, protects space and our planet and enhances our overall quality of life.

As a Senior Wireless and Algorithm Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing algorithms for silicon to be used in wireless communication systems within our LEO satellite constellation. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and reliable transmission of data in advanced satellite communication networks. You will leverage your deep expertise in algorithm design, wireless communication theory, and signal processing to create innovative solutions that meet rigorous performance standards.

This position will report to the Sr. Director of Product and System Integration, Silicon, and will work closely with systems, software, hardware, and test teams responsible for delivering the communications payload. This position is based in our Saratoga, CA office.

What you will be doing:

Algorithm Design and Development:

Lead the design and development of advanced algorithms for wireless communication systems, especially on beamforming and time and frequency synchronisations.

Develop and implement algorithms for modulation, coding, synchronization, channel estimation, and beamforming.

Perform simulations and analyses to evaluate the performance of the designed algorithms.

System Integration and Testing:

Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate the designed algorithms into the overall communication system for silicon development.

Develop and execute test plans to validate algorithm performance on FPGA and ASIC under various conditions.

Analyze test data to identify performance bottlenecks and refine algorithms as needed.

Performance Optimization:

Optimize algorithms to meet or exceed specified performance requirements.

Implement techniques to mitigate the impact of physical layer impairments.

Continuously improve algorithms based on the latest advancements in wireless communication and signal processing.

Documentation and Reporting:

Document all design, development, and testing processes, including test results and performance evaluations.

Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in wireless communication technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into the design process.

Collaboration and Support:

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers.

Provide technical support and expertise during system integration and field trials.

Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

What you bring to this role:

Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in algorithm design and wireless communication systems.

Strong background in communication theory, digital signal processing, and wireless communication systems.

Proficiency in simulation and modelling tools such as MATLAB, SystemC, Simulink, or equivalent.

Experience in designing and developing algorithms for wireless communication systems, including beamforming.

Familiarity with satellite communication systems, particularly LEO networks.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Bonus points for the following:

Strong knowledge of 3GPP standards, preferably 5GNR.

Experience with hardware implementation and testing of communication systems.

Familiarity with software‑defined radio (SDR) platforms and tools.

Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, or VHDL/Verilog.

This is a full‑time, exempt position based out of our Saratoga office. The target base pay for this position is $100,000 - $200,000 annually.
