Position Summary:
A server’s role is to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our guests, enhancing their dining experience. This position requires patience, personality, and perseverance to succeed. Responsibilities include greeting and serving guests, providing detailed menu information, multitasking various front‑of‑house duties, and handling payments, all while thriving in a fast‑paced environment. The Front Server will be courteous to customers, ensuring they enjoy their meals, and will be a team player, communicating effectively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly. Ultimately, it is the duty of the Front Server to provide an excellent overall dining experience for our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the team to create great energy and atmosphere.
Greet each guest with a cheerful or positive attitude and a smile.
Take out trash and keep the restaurant clean and organized, free of dirty plates and glassware.
Run food to tables and ensure guests receive their correct order.
Handle food promptly to maintain optimal temperature.
Have a great understanding of the menu and each dish.
Fill water glasses when necessary.
Clear empty food plates when guests are finished.
Wipe down and sanitize tables after customers finish eating.
Keep the restaurant stocked with necessary supplies such as plates, napkins, silverware, and glasses.
Greet and escort customers to their tables.
Present the menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., portion size, ingredients, and potential allergies).
Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
Inform customers about the day’s specials.
Offer menu recommendations upon request.
Up‑sell additional products when appropriate.
Take accurate food and drink orders using POS and order slips.
Check customers’ IDs to ensure compliance with age requirements for alcohol.
Communicate order details to Kitchen Staff.
Serve food and drink orders.
Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation; report any problems.

Must sit, stand, or walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
Must lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly.
Must bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull as needed.
Education & Experience: Must have 1–2 years serving experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
San Diego County Food Handlers Card (must be turned in within 30 days of employment).
Anti‑harassment and nondiscrimination 1‑hour class.
RBS – Responsible Alcohol Service (must be turned in when training concludes).
