Director of Software Engineering – Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Join our team as the Director of Software Engineering within the Commercial & Investment Bank – Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) technology organization at JPMorgan Chase.

As the transformation lead, you will think multiple years ahead and architect the future of financial planning technology, promoting strategic initiatives, championing innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your leadership will shape adoption of advanced methodologies such as promoter‑based planning, challenger models, and AI/ML‑powered forecasting.

Job Responsibilities

Lead transformation initiatives to modernize FP&A technology platforms, focusing on innovation, operational excellence, and long‑term strategic impact.

Define and execute multi‑year technology strategies, anticipating future business needs and industry trends.

Architect and implement driver‑based planning solutions that enable dynamic, data‑driven decision making across multiple Sub‑LoBs.

Introduce and scale challenger models to enhance forecasting accuracy and support robust scenario analysis.

Evaluate, implement, and optimize AI/ML technologies for predictive analytics, financial modeling, and automated forecasting.

Inspire and mentor cross‑functional teams, cultivating a collaborative and innovative environment.

Oversee a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring alignment with financial regulations, data protection standards, and seamless system integration.

Develop and uphold data architecture standards, reliability, and governance frameworks.

Influence senior stakeholders, including the CFO organization, business heads, and C‑suite executives, acting as a trusted advisor and transformation champion.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience, with 5+ years leading technologists to manage complex technical items.

Hands‑on experience with financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Experience implementing technology solutions for FP&A teams, driving process automation and analytics.

Lead and mentor a cross‑functional team of 15‑25 engineers, data scientists, and business analysts.

Proven track record as a transformation lead, delivering mission‑critical projects with budgets exceeding $10 M and driving change across organizational boundaries.

Deep functional knowledge of finance and treasury products, with experience in investment management.

Strong background in data architecture, cloud platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow), and analytics.

Demonstrated experience with driver‑based planning, challenger models, and AI/ML forecasting solutions.

Exceptional communication skills, with executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
