Who are we looking for?
The US West Region is looking for a motivated Staff Level Civil Engineer – Highways & Roads to join our growing team in California. This position can be located in any of our offices in CA or AZ. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with the skills to assist in the delivery of highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails / active transportation, bridges, and other enriching and vital improvements. This position will be networked through our offices across the West Region.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Engineering Design tasks: roadway & transportation projects from preliminary to final design. Design tasks include geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, and typical cross-sections.
Assist: Cost Estimates, reports and technical memos
Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, & use established change management programs to address them.
Engineering Standards Specification: Support drafting of engineering standards and specifications and evaluate effectiveness.
Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships using relevant systems.
Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support development and validation.
Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities, participation in assessment and development planning, formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant.
Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience
Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate, PE or ability to get PE in 12 months preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Salary Range: $80,000-$133,000 based on experience.
