Responsibilities
Provide independent nursing interventions related to infusion therapy and vascular access.
Perform infusion therapy and vascular access procedures, including central venous catheter insertion, large-bore peripheral IV placement, intraosseous access, and intraosseous insertions during rapid responses and codes.
Participate in a 36‑hour day/night rotation that includes weekends and holidays.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, effective, and appropriate infusion therapy.
Support the IV Therapy team in education and skill development for staff across the hospital.
Assist in the creation and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and standards related to infusion therapy.
Qualifications
Education
– Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensure
– Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license in Massachusetts. VA‑BC or CRNI certification preferred.
Experience
– Minimum of two years of intravenous (IV) nursing experience. Clinical nursing experience of 1–3 years required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
– Knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information, and ability to accurately screen, triage, and care for acute patients.
