Job Description We are seeking a Federal Client Director to lead the pursuit, capture, and development of customer and partner relationships within the Civilian Agency practice. The role will be instrumental in driving vertical and horizontal growth, developing a 3‑year business plan aligned with our federal sales objectives, and managing a named account territory.

Who You'll Work With Join a team driving the transformation to Software‑Defined Cloud Networking for the world’s largest enterprise customer base and the U.S. Federal Government. You will collaborate with Customer Engineers, Professional Services, and Executive teams to help customers execute on their behalf. This role typically reports to a Regional Sales Manager or Area VP of Sales.

Alternate Locations DMV Area – Reston, VA (Northern Virginia), Bethesda, MD.

Job Responsibilities

Leverage your federal sales background to lead strategies that meet revenue goals within Federal Civilian Agencies, especially the FAA and Department of Transportation.

Conduct consultative selling and solution development that addresses federal customer needs while coordinating all necessary company resources to meet account performance objectives.

Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities across the Arista product portfolio, including Data Center Networking, Virtual Networking, Campus Networking, Cloud Vision, Cognitive Wi‑Fi, Network Detection and Response, and End‑Point Security.

Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned agencies.

Create and execute targeted account plans in partnership with partner managers and the sales engineering team.

Generate customer demand through pre‑engagement planning, research, and solution alignment to mission objectives.

Align year‑1 to year‑3 business priorities across a named account territory.

Develop a marketing plan aligned with named accounts and territory.

Qualifications Who Are You?

You are a driven sales leader with deep knowledge of U.S. Federal programs and Civilian agency operations, and you want to build a Federal Civilian agency franchise.

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS, CS, BBA) or equivalent.

10+ years of federal sales experience within Civilian agencies (HHS, Social Security, EPA, DoE, DoJ, SEC, FEMA, etc.).

In‑depth knowledge of federal procurement programs and proven strategies for capturing opportunities within the Federal Government and Federal Systems Integrators.

Demonstrated experience selling into U.S. Federal accounts, Federal Systems Integrators, and Managed Service Providers.

Proven leadership skills leading cross‑functional teams within Engineering, Legal, Marketing, and external partners.

Experience navigating end‑user requirement definitions through contracting and resale processes.

Working knowledge of networking (Route, Switch, SDN, SD‑WAN, Campus Networks, Network Virtualization, NFV), data center, and/or network automation solutions.

Strong people skills and ability to cultivate relationships at all levels.

Track record of building business plans, documenting processes, and exceeding sales targets.

Required travel by air and land to customers and partners.

U.S. citizenship, background checks, and potential clearance processes required; active TS/SCI clearance preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation Information The base salary range for this role is $132,000 to $180,000, depending on skills, qualifications, and U.S. location. Compensation may also include discretionary bonuses, commissions, equity, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, and tax savings.
