$200,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify for this position - you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physicians in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation. Basic Requirements

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved school Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification Approved residencies: (ACGME) or (AOA) or other residencies with equivalent experience as determined by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee Residents enrolled in accredited residency programs may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs) and must be fully licensed physicians; PRPs are not independent practitioners and may be appointed on a supervised basis Proficiency in spoken and written English Additional Requirement: Trained in Internal Medicine Residency and able to manage complex chronic medical conditions Preferred Experience: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine Reference: For more information on this qualification standard, visit https://www.va.gov/ohrm/QualificationStandards/ Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job-related duties including light carrying (under 15 pounds), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands, walking and standing up to 1 hour, and related demands Exposure considerations: working inside and outside, working closely with others, and protracted or irregular hours Health examination: A health examination must be completed prior to assignment and periodically thereafter as required by policy Duties

Lead and manage daily operations across defined clinics in collaboration with the Clinical Director for Primary Care (DPC) and Nurse Manager, with delegated authority as applicable Manage patient panel sizing consistent with VHA and FTEE allocation policies Investigate and address complex concerns and implement mitigation to optimize patient and staff experiences Innovate to optimize collaboration among staff, disciplines, and processes to meet and exceed department benchmarks and KPIs, including quality outcomes and patient experience metrics Utilize data and analytics to drive care delivery, access, quality, and coordination improvements Provide leadership in ethical issues, equal employment opportunity principles, and a practice environment that supports compassionate, efficient care Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development at local and network levels Aggregate departmental data and participate in resource planning (financial, human, material, and informational) Seniority level
