Job Description Candidates must be in the Bay Area. HPE Networking will unleash the power of the combined HPE Aruba Networking and Juniper Networking solutions, addressing a broad range of customer segments. The Sr. Systems Engineer is a key role that enables HPE to sell and support sophisticated networking and security solutions.

Responsibilities
Provide pre‑sales technical consultation in the design, engineering, sale, and implementation of sophisticated products, applications, and solutions.
Work in partnership with sales teams and industry partners to assess potential applications of our products, ensuring optimum system solutions for new and existing customers.
Respond to customer proposals (RFP, RFQ, RFI) and create viable proposals that grow Juniper’s business in a sales environment.
Develop architecture designs, engineering bill of materials, and implementation specifications for next‑generation networks and solutions.
Engage and influence customer technology strategies through technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, proof‑of‑concept, and trial engagements.
Build, develop, and maintain strong professional relationships with customer IT decision‑makers and industry partner community.
Deliver training and support to industry partners and customer engineers.
Continuously learn and stay ahead of industry and competitive solutions, products, and services.
Apply latest technological innovations to real‑world customer challenges.
Education & Experience
Minimum 7 years in a technical/pre‑sales role as a Sales or Systems Engineer.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Experience designing/engineering/consulting on LAN/WAN, campus, data center, security, and cloud technology solutions.
Extensive experience implementing and operating campus and branch networks with enterprise networking and security solutions.
Deep knowledge of the Juniper product line and competitive solutions.
Hands‑on expertise in routing, switching, and security technologies from a pre‑sale, operational, or engineering perspective.
Strong interpersonal, relationship, and communication skills with experience in customer‑facing sales activities.
Recognized technical capability with rapid learning ability in new protocols and applications.
Deep understanding of routing protocols (IGPs, EGPs, Layer‑2/3 VPNs).
Experience in campus network design (access, distribution, core) and datacenter network design (EVPN/VXLAN, clos architectures).
Extensive experience with MPLS and WAN network design (LDP, RSVP, SR).
Experience with management solutions such as Paragon, MIST, Apstra, or equivalent.
Hands‑on experience with Juniper or other vendor solutions.
What We Would Love You to Have
Experience with emerging technology areas: virtualization, VMWare, OpenStack, VNF, and container solutions.
DevOps experience in automation using Python, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, YANG, JSON, Netconf, and Ansible.
Experience with cloud‑based technologies: AWS, GCP, Azure.
Certifications such as JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE, or others.
