Key Responsibilities Inventory Management
Daily Posting of production and material usage inventory entries
Weekly posting of fuel usage entries and accruals
Month-end analysis of physical-to-book inventory variances
Booking of month end inventory adjustments and communication to Controller to investigate unusual/sizable variances
Performance of monthly inventory reconciliation reports
Review and analysis of monthly plant reports
Coordinate with Plant Superintendent to ensure accurate information reported for budgeting purposes
Cash Management
Logging of all cash/check batch totals posted by AR department
Performance of monthly account reconciliations for all active bank accounts
Filing and organization of AR entries and support documentation
Construction Accounting
Maintain Certificate of Insurance and Service Agreements
Review pricing in APEX for Construction jobs and FOB Customers
Additional Responsibilities
Display a professional and courteous attitude to coworkers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual
Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all employees
Strict adherence to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required
Qualifications Education & Experience Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Work Requirements Individual must possess a working knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts, including P&L's and relevant balance sheet accounts. Must demonstrate strong numerical skills and the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions. Attention to detail and presentation of the work product to a high standard is required.
Individual must possess a questioning mind and the ability to think independently. Ability to challenge situations in a constructive manner and present reasonable alternatives. Must possess superior problem-solving skills; ability to identify and investigate potential problems with respect to accounting and internal control issues.
