Overview The position offers 8–10 hour shifts Monday through Friday with pay ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour. The client is a partially paralyzed male who lives with his wife in a private home. Primary responsibilities include personal care, assistance with exercise/therapy, transfers/safety, companion care, and light housekeeping.
All caregivers must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination upon hire.
Responsibilities
Personal Care: bathing, dressing, grooming, nail/skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheel chair, walker, crutches, cane), change of position, toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, assistance with feeding.
Companion/Sitter/Household Management: provide companionship and respite services for family; perform homemaking activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, dishes, changing bed linens, laundry, cleaning bathrooms.
Transportation: drive clients to medical appointments, errands, visits, or outings. Valid and up-to-date license and insurance required.
Medication reminders.
Qualifications / Educational Requirements
High school graduate or G.E.D certificate.
Licensed to provide home care in Washington State. For unlicensed candidates, paid HCA training is available.
At least 1 year experience as a Home Care Aide desired.
Good standing on Washington DSHS Background Check System.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle or adequate transportation.
Experience with specific conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s, etc a plus.
Comfort with holistic/integrative healthcare a plus.
