Job Description And Duties Under the direction of the Chief of Law Enforcement and supervision of the Supervising Special Investigator, the Investigator conducts independent criminal, civil, and/or administrative investigations to detect or verify suspected violations or provisions of Federal, State, and/or local laws, rules or regulations; obtains and verifies evidence to support administrative action and/or prosecution; determines type of case and develops investigative plan; conducts and completes investigations; maintains accurate master investigation case files; develops field operation plans and safely executes them; provides technical assistance and training to law enforcement agencies and others; makes arrests; cooperates with and secures the assistance of Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies; prepares clear, concise, and accurate documents and reports detailing investigative activities and findings; may provide security and protection to departmental employees and property in cases of emergency and/or threat; and performs other related work. The investigator is a Peace Officer pursuant to Section 830.3(v) of the California Penal Code and complies with all required government codes and POST standards regarding standards/ training. The Investigator while on duty may carry a firearm if authorized by the Executive Director and Chief of Law Enforcement and as specified by OPS Policy 306 Firearms. The Investigator is also responsible for maintaining a secure and safe operation for the welfare of patients, staff, and the public. Post Orders are available to review specific detailed job assignments and duties.

DSH-Sacramento is in a new modern, sustainable and innovative 11-story office building located at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California. Some of the amenities of the new building include the following:
First-floor retail space (separate access from 12th Street)
Café with multiple vendors available to the public
Outdoor seating with pedestrian walkways
Large, shared conference room on the first floor with a maximum capacity of 162 individuals
An employee fitness center with a yoga studio, cardio equipment and weights
Plaza area with a kitchenette on each floor
Lactation rooms
More conference rooms and collaborative working spaces available throughout the building – small, medium and large
Shared Terrace space on the 10th floor with indoor/outdoor seating and views of the Capitol
Mobile computer equipment, cloud-based technology and Wi-Fi for all staff
