Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Head of Credit Research, collaborate with senior analysts and portfolio managers to support the due diligence and underwriting analysis of the private and public bonds. Ideally, the junior analyst would be in that role for 2-3 years before deciding if there is an opportunity for the junior analyst and if there is a fit for growth into a more senior position.

Assist senior analysts in conducting the research and analysis in the credit underwriting process on public and private placement new issue and secondary transactions.

Attend roadshows in Milwaukee to meet with management teams and/or listen to roadshow conference calls.

Perform earnings write-ups in various sectors depending on need.

Aid in updating semi-annual private placement reviews.

Spread and update financial statements of various private placement credits.

Sit in on pricing calls for private placements.

Listen in on management update calls.

Help to update and maintain deal information in DealCloud.

Help private operations analyst with updating Bloomberg codes in ThinkFolio.

If needed, help out in corporate public bond analysis.

Maintain and foster effective relationships both within and outside the company with portfolio managers, secondary traders, research analysts, private placement investment bankers, and other market sources.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Will also consider high performers from other fields.

Has obtained or willing to obtain CFA; Desiring to pursue an MBA is preferred as well.

Any experience in fixed income or equity security analysis is a plus.

0-5+ years progressively responsible business experience in the assigned investment area.

Ability to build effective relationships at all levels with coworkers.

Communicate effectively both verbal and written.

Achievement-orientation demonstrated by solid judgment, high performance, and achievement of target results.

Ability to handle constructive criticism and balance stakeholder demands.

Desire to foster an environment that is diverse and inclusive.

Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office is required. Advanced Excel skills, including building dynamic models and reports.

Working with data tools and integrating with financial data add-ins like Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ is preferred.

Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI as well as experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, Java, or similar is preferred.

Capable of independently learning analytical software and data tools.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary $76,900.00 - $128,200.00
