Our client in Mentor is seeking an experienced
CMM Programmer
to support their manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dimensional inspection, GD&T, and CMM programming. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all products meet quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and write CMM programs for new projects.
Perform dimensional inspections using various measurement tools and equipment.
Interpret and analyze inspection reports and blueprints to verify product accuracy.
Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), line inspections, receiving inspections, and final audits.
Utilize Zeiss Calypso software (required); experience with PC-DMIS is a plus.
Support engineering and production teams by ensuring consistent application of quality practices.
Apply strong GD&T knowledge to evaluate and communicate product compliance.
Maintain documentation and adhere to quality standards such as ISO, IATF, and ITAR/DFAR.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent education/experience).
Proficiency in Zeiss Calypso CMM programming (required).
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T symbols.
Familiarity with ISO, IATF, and ITAR/DFAR standards.
Hands‑on experience using tools such as Smartscopes, Keyence systems, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, height stands, profilometers, and hardness testers.
Physical Requirements Work will take place in both office and manufacturing environments, which may include exposure to dust, solvents, and varying temperatures. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all company and safety standards.
