HS Assistant Girls Soccer Coach - Washington Title: Coach - Assistant Coach-HS Girls Soccer Location: Washington HS

Job Goal: Directly responsible to the head coach of a sport. The assistant coach will be expected to exhibit total loyalty to the program, the head coach, and the other assistants at all times. The assistant coach will be required to carry out all assignments given to him by the head coach.

Essential Functions

Assist the head coach as directed with the following:

Organize and direct coaching staff

Collect physical examination forms

Collect insurance release forms

Report injuries to the school nurse

Take inventory and submit a list of equipment needs

Check out and collect all equipment

Keep accurate records and reports of lost or stolen equipment

Provide a roster of players

Provide the Athletic Director a list of athletes who are to receive awards at the end of the season and plan the awards ceremony

Ensure proper team conduct on trips and during contests

Know all rules pertaining to the sport

Treat injuries or attend to athletes

Clean and maintain equipment and uniforms

Organize practice sessions

Qualifications

Certified teacher or must qualify for Rule 10 approval through the Kansas State High School Activities Association

Communication / Organization Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties. Performs other related work as required.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Language Skills Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.

Physical Demands & Work Environment The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, push items of 50 pounds such as pushing on a bike or wheelchair, or moving/rearranging furniture. The noise level is usually loud. The work environment is standard for this position.
