Overview
The Accountant at TheCRM plays a critical role in overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting functions. This role is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who can manage financial processes, optimize cash flow, and support financial reporting. The Accountant will collaborate across departments to uphold financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency. Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP): Produce and manage processing, verification, and reconciliation of vendor invoices and employee expense reports. Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors while maintaining strong relationships. Monitor and manage AP aging reports, resolve discrepancies, and optimize cash flow. Work with department heads to ensure proper expense allocation and adherence to financial policies. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes related to AP. Accounts Receivable (AR): Oversee billing and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms. Monitor AR aging reports, proactively follow up on outstanding balances to maintain strong cash flow. Implement credit and collection procedures to minimize risk and bad debt exposure. Work closely with sales and account management teams to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies. Ensure accurate revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Conduct budget vs. actual analysis, providing insights and variance explanations. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory standards. Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of experience in accounting, including AP, AR, and financial reporting Strong proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Xero is a plus) Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and internal controls Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments About TheCRM
