Supports the PHLY Claims department through forensic accounting activities including the understanding of financial record keeping and reporting of TMNAS, our Group Companies and related business industries.
Essential Job Functions
Research, data analysis, evaluation and preparation of preliminary analysis with respect to claims file
Examination of source documents pertinent to a claims file
Interpreting and evaluating various business industries financial data
Creative thinking and problem-solving skill
Checking and proofing reports and analysis
Verbal and written communication to Claims examiners and Claimants
Perform “traditional” General Accounting responsibilities (i.e., journal entry recording, general ledger close), as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required
1-2+ years of Insurance experience
Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques, ability to meet or exceed customer service needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
Knowledge of insurance finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting, ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Knowledge of tools, practices and considerations for updating and validating general ledger data
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel preferred
Strong writing and communication skills
Displays strong professional skepticism
Strong customer service orientation toward Business Units requiring financial consultation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)
Strong interpersonal relationship building skills: able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions
Superior attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to juggle multiple, competing, frequently changing time-sensitive deadlines and priorities
Ability to work independently and without supervision
