We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive HR & Payroll Specialist to support a sophisticated team within an organization that blends government stewardship with private‑investment‑style operational rigor. The Team You Will Be Joining You’ll be joining a mission‑driven team that manages one of the largest education endowments in the nation, supporting Texas public schools. With over $57 billion in assets, this organization distributes billions annually to K–12 education, combining fiscal stewardship and innovation to strengthen the foundation of learning statewide.

Major Duties

Process full‑cycle payroll for 85+ employees and interns using CAPPS HR/Payroll and related systems.

Audit and reconcile payroll data, prepare payroll journals, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Manage onboarding and off boarding, including data entry, NEO (new employee onboarding) coordination, and employment verifications.

Administer benefits and leave programs, monitor time entries, and validate related deductions; ensure accurate communication of payroll and benefits details.

Maintain and audit personnel files for compliance and completeness.

Assist with HR policy updates, intranet content, and HR/Legal administrative support including purchase orders and travel requests.

Additional tasks as required to meet organizational goals and objectives.

What we’re looking for

Minimum 2 years of full‑cycle payroll experience required.

Experience with CAPPS HR/Payroll, PeopleSoft, or Workday HCM strongly preferred.

HR coordinator experience preferred, including onboarding, benefits, and policy support.

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications, with emphasis on Excel proficiency.

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.

Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, start‑up style environment.

Investment or finance industry experience is a plus.

Exciting Opportunity Details

Rate: $35.00/hour

Length of Engagement: 6 months

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm

Location: Austin, TX 78701
