HEICO is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate for a full time direct hire position in Hollywood, FL.
The
Accounts Payable Associate
is responsible for intermediate level clerical accounting duties, requiring some analysis and individual judgment in the application of routine calculation, verification, and posting procedures to recurring assignments.
Responsibilities
Performs standardized accounting routines to process accounts payable; obtains payment authorization, generates checks, and processes for payment.
Checks completeness and mathematical accuracy of repetitive accounting documents; makes simple adjustments with supervision.
Posts accounting information with clear identification; matches invoices received to purchase, requisition, and receiving documentation; checks accuracy; applies coding; posts; schedules payment following standard procedures.
Types and/or file vouchers, invoices, or similar items, as time permits or as required.
Identifies discrepancies and determines alternative courses of action.
Posts information where the identification and location of postings are standardized, involving choices among easily recognizable situations which are subject to similar treatment.
Assembles, analyzes, and audits various accounts (e.g., performs standard reconciliations); verifies payment.
Develops contacts outside immediate work area to obtain, verify, or provide information concerning accounting documents; responds to vendor inquiries regarding status of accounts payable; investigates and resolves questions and escalates complex matters as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
Experience
Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
Language/Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
Computer Skills : Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Reasoning Skills : Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; problem solving and solution provision.
Organizational Skills : Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize.
Interpersonal Skills : Ability to work both in a team environment and independently; effective interaction with team members at all levels.
Customer Service Skills : Highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements.
