$28.08 per hour . Shift differential:
$0.80
for work after 5 pm and on weekends.
Key Job Responsibilities
Engage in problem solving, threat mitigation, and conflict resolution for a wide range of incidents involving citizens, campus entities, and external agencies.
Provide protection of life and property, preserve peace and order, and deliver emergency aid to the institutional community.
Conduct preliminary and follow‑up investigations to solve crimes, identify suspects and victims, apprehend criminals, and document case information.
Ensure the safe and orderly flow of traffic on institutional roadways and enforce traffic laws.
Offer crime prevention education to the institutional community.
Required Qualifications
Applicant must be certifiable, or have completed the 720‑hour academy, or be currently enrolled in a WI Department of Justice “Law Enforcement Recruit” training course and eligible for certification upon employment.
60 college credits and 21 years of age or older.
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license or a valid license from another state.
Authorization to use a university vehicle.
Ability to perform the essential functions of a police officer and use required law‑enforcement equipment.
Knowledge of evidence preservation, emergency vehicle operation, report preparation, crowd management, state and federal statutes, investigation and arrest techniques, and effective communication skills.
Computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
Education Associate Degree or 60 accredited credit hours from a recognized institution.
