As a CBRE Industrial Wastewater Treatment Supervisor, you will supervise, plan, direct, and oversee the activities and operation of the industrial wastewater treatment, deionized water, and irrigation systems.

What You'll Do

  • Operates and maintains Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) equipment.
  • Irrigation permit responsibilities: proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the irrigation system.
  • Control of onsite piping to prevent cross-connections with potable water supplies.
  • Routine inspection and maintenance of backflow prevention devices installed to protect potable water supplies, consistent with CCR Title 17 section 7605.
  • Maintain compliance with the site Reclaim Water Irrigation Permit and implement BMPs to prevent hazards to public health and the environment.
  • Collaborate with EHS to manage/update the Keysight Technologies Irrigation Management Plan (IMP).
  • Ensure adherence to the Keysight Technologies Reclaimed Water Operations and Management Plan.
  • Industrial wastewater discharge permit responsibilities: proper operation and maintenance of the process wastewater treatment system.
  • Maintain documented operating procedures and safe work practices; train staff.
  • Check samples daily for operational Indicator parameters; respond to out-of-spec conditions and report to EHS as needed.
  • Investigate and implement corrective measures for injuries or out-of-spec conditions.
  • Manage WTP operational accounts and assist in developing operating and capital budgets.
  • Assist in operations and maintenance issues, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance; develop/maintain WTP maintenance and safety manuals.
  • Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and technicians.
  • Oversee all WTP systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and controls.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management, and vendors.
  • Assist in solicitation and acquisition of new management contracts as needed.
  • Coordinate development and maintenance of as-built drawings.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and customer concerns.
  • Respond to regulatory reporting requirements and requests from authorities and clients.
  • Implement and administer inventory control programs and procurement of parts and supplies.
  • Establish and monitor programs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government directives related to WTP operations.
  • Maintain and execute Safety and Regulatory programs, including SOPs, training, and incident review.
  • Lead the response team for alarms and upset conditions, including 24/7 readiness and leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities; establish work schedules and cross-train staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines; mentor and coach as needed.
  • Provide formal supervision within a single functional area; approve staff recommendations for recruitment, promotion, and action.
  • Plan staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime; prepare performance appraisals.
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop competencies; lead by example in line with company values.

What You'll Need

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum of four years’ experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industrial wastewater and inorganic chemistry knowledge required.
  • Metal processing / waste stream experience required.
  • Supervisory experience desired.
  • Respirator program qualification required for various chemical handling operations.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

Certificates and/or Licenses

  • Additional certification in three or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC/Exhaust/Scrubber, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing. Certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions.

Other Skills and/or Abilities

  • Advanced math skills; ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and chemistry-related calculations.
  • Physical requirements: stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate an EMS and CMMS system.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to convey performance expectations and handle problems; strong leadership to motivate team and impact quality and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of applicable practices, regulations, and environmental safety requirements.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
