ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Underground Production & Planning Engineer at Norton Gold Fields PTY LTD, you will play a key role in driving the operational efficiency and strategic planning of the company’s mining operations in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise and contribute to the ongoing success of this leading mining organisation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Produce practical mine designs (including infrastructure and development required) to enable exploration of mining blocks over the LOM period.

Produce and maintain rolling production schedules.

Translate the long-term plan into a high quality, safe and executable short-term or mid-term schedule.

Drill and blast designs to support schedule targets.

Communicate with the Shift Supervisor, crew and technical staff on plans and issues.

Analyse and optimise ventilation systems.

Review applications of different mining methods and the impact on the economic viability of mining blocks and recommend changes as required.

Undertake rigorous economic evaluations of individual mining blocks.

Design development drives, stoping blocks, blast ring layouts and work plans are required.

Identify and set production priorities.

Complete reconciliations to measure and track design vs actual performance of designs.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering.

Experience with mine design software – Deswik CAD and IS.

Proficiency in both Deswik CAD and IS modules is required.

Proven track record in comparable role and operation (minimum 3 years) is essential.

Minimum 3 years experience in underground mining operations is required.

Australian work authorisation will be considered on a case by case basis.

WHAT WE OFFER

Permanent full-time role with immediate start.

Receive $12k residential allowance per annum.

Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.

Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.
