Vaco has partnered with a client located in Zionsville, IN to hire an Electrical Project Manager for commercial construction projects. This person will work in office and travel to project sites throughout IN, IL, and OH.

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager with a strong background in commercial electrical systems and EPC projects. This role is responsible for managing all phases of project execution — from procurement to installation and closeout. The ideal candidate is a results‑driven leader who excels at managing complex electrical and solar projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction activities for commercial and solar electrical projects.

Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.

Coordinate closely with design engineers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all technical and contractual requirements are met.

Review and approve electrical drawings, one‑lines, and specifications for compliance with NEC, utility, and project standards.

Manage procurement of major equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.

Prepare and track project cost reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.

Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to maintain transparency and resolve issues promptly.

Support commissioning, testing, and project turnover to the client.

Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all project phases.

Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in project management within the commercial electrical and solar EPC industries.

Proven ability to manage design‑build or turnkey EPC projects exceeding $1M in scope.

Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, PV arrays, inverters, and interconnection requirements.

Comprehensive knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and local building codes.

Experience leading teams of technicians and foremen.

Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and AutoCAD or similar software platforms is preferred.

Excellent leadership, budgeting, and communication skills.

PMP certification or Electrical Contractor License preferred.

Must be comfortable with regional travel up to 30% of the time.
