Overview ABOUT THE POSITION We’re actively looking for an Entry Level Waterfront Engineer to join our growing team in New England, ideally located in our Rhode Island office. This position will support the planning, permitting and design of waterfront and coastal infrastructure throughout our footprint. Projects would vary, but include design of marinas, piers, bulkheads, seawall, revetments and marine terminal structures, and living shoreline stabilization.

The candidate who fills this position will join a high performing team that provides clients with multi-disciplinary engineering and science-based solutions to coastal management challenges including coastal/waterfront engineering, coastal flood risk, resiliency and adaptation design, and dredged material management.

Responsibilities

Support ongoing Waterfront/Coastal projects under the guidance of experienced engineers

Develop plan sets for planning, regulatory review and construction using AutoCAD

Assist in the design and permitting of waterfront developments such as piers, marinas, and boardwalk

Analyze and support the design of structures for flood and erosion control, including seawalls, bulkheads, and breakwaters

Contribute to development of living shoreline erosion solutions designs

Conduct technical analyses and performing basic calculations

Assist in mooring and berthing analyses and design tasks

Assist with dredging design and permitting processes

Support in construction contract administration tasks including fieldwork

Participate in site inspections and assisting in the preparation of reports

Qualifications:

B.S. in Civil, Structural, Waterfront, or Coastal Engineering. MS degree preferred.

0-1 year of experience in Waterfront Engineering

EIT preferred.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including technical writing and presentation skills.
