Senior Manager, Technology Strategy & Partnerships
to connect the dots between what our engineers are building internally and the innovation happening externally in the market. In this role, you’ll work across engineering and product teams to
catalog the technology landscape within Walmart , identify
strategic opportunities for partnerships or acquisitions , and
source external companies
that can accelerate our roadmap. You’ll lead discovery and early diligence, coordinate the right technical and business stakeholders, and help bring new technologies from concept through
pilot and proof‑of‑concept execution . This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of

What You’ll Do: Map and Analyze Internal Technology Landscape
Partner with engineering teams across Walmart Global Tech to catalog platforms, tools, and initiatives currently in development.
Identify redundancies, synergies, and innovation gaps across lines of business.
Build scalable processes and visibility tools for ongoing technology inventory tracking.
Source and Evaluate External Innovation
Scout emerging technologies and startups aligned to Walmart’s strategic priorities in retail tech, data, AI, automation, logistics, and customer experience.
Build relationships with venture partners, accelerators, and industry networks to stay ahead of trends.
Identify and qualify external companies for partnership or potential acquisition.
Lead Early‑Stage Diligence and Pilots
Conduct initial technical and strategic assessments of prospective partners.
Collaborate with Walmart’s corporate development, product, and legal teams during the discovery and evaluation process.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams to design and execute pilots or proofs of concept.
Measure pilot outcomes and report insights back to technology and business leadership.
Strategic Alignment & Influence
Connect internal innovation with external opportunities that advance Walmart’s long‑term technology strategy.
Provide leadership with actionable insights on emerging trends, competitive movements, and partnership opportunities.
Act as a strategic bridge between Global Tech, Corporate Development, and business units.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in technology strategy, partnerships, corporate development, or product innovation roles.
Strong understanding of enterprise‑scale technology systems, cloud architectures, and software development.
Experience collaborating with technical and business leaders to evaluate and pilot new technologies.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills — able to translate between engineering detail and strategic outcomes.
A proactive, analytical, and curious mindset, with the ability to spot opportunities that drive real‑world impact.
Preferred Experience:
Prior work in or with large‑scale technology organizations or innovation teams.
Exposure to startup ecosystems, venture sourcing, or early‑stage partnerships.
Familiarity with Walmart’s business domains (supply chain, retail operations, customer experience, or data/AI platforms).
