With a fleet of over 2,200 items of plant and equipment and employing over 180 staff, we are the largest compaction and surface dressing hire Company in the UK and also provide a general purpose fleet of compact and mid range sized construction and materials handling equipment. The Role
We have a vacancy for a Purchasing Manager based at our Chesterfield Head Office (S41 0JW). Basic hours 8:00am until 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week). Reporting to the Managing and Operations Directors, the Main Objective is to lead and manage the purchasing function to sustainably purchase and acquire products and services which enhance operational efficiency, safety and environmental impact, at the optimum quality, price and time of delivery. Key Duties
Maintain an effective list of Approved Suppliers, develop and maintain long term productive relationships with them and negotiate National Contracts in fulfilment of the purchasing functions objectives Manage effective Risk Management Strategies and Processes to ensure critical supplies are always available Ensure efficient and cost effective purchasing and procurement processes and procedures are in place and are aligned and integrated within the requirements of our Quality Management Systems Full job description can be provided upon request Candidate Profile
The successful candidate must have experience in dealing with suppliers of plant and equipment and parts which service the construction industry (e.g Rollers, Pavers, Loading Shovels, Excavators and Dumpers etc). They must also be suitably qualified, have a track record of achievements in a similar role and proven good commercial management, leadership, communication and decision making skills. We are looking for someone who has drive, can continually seek to improve our purchasing processes and positively contribute towards the efficiency of our plant fleet and associated operational systems. Candidates must possess a valid driving licence.
