What You’ll Do Provide technical subject‑matter expertise (SME) for Environmental product lines including Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Cryogenic Coolers. Serve as SME, build strategy, set priorities, and lead a team to drive business results and improvements. Provision technical solutions based on existing and newly‑developed technology. Possess a strategic vision for future products, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure objectives meet budget and compliance requirements. Manage supplier relationships and collaborate with all business functions to identify issues and deliver solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Manage complex projects/programs involving multiple components for completeness, compatibility, and compliance at the MSD Davenport level.

Own development and execution of engineering technical roadmaps, driving innovation aligned to customer needs.

Generate technical solutions and ensure integrity of design across multiple programs, including review and approval.

Drive best‑practice methodologies for MSD Environmental products (mechanical, electrical, software) using proven Eaton methods & tools; serve as internal customer for quality acceptance of deliverables.

Champion site compliance with Eaton Aerospace Common Engineering Standards (ACES) and lead ACES‑driven program reviews.

Design complete components or systems to meet customer performance and cost requirements.

Collaborate with suppliers on technical offerings and design approval.

Lead root‑cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities and serve as approver for RCCAs.

Promote Design for Six Sigma tools and methods.

Mentor within the engineering organization.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum 10 years of experience with new product development and sustaining support.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical components and/or systems.

U.S. citizenship required for eligibility under federal contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Engineering degree from an accredited institution.

10 years of experience within aerospace or high‑tech industry for new product development and sustaining support.

Key role in an aerospace‑related professional organization.

DFSS Greenbelt or Blackbelt; progression to Blackbelt required if starting at Greenbelt.

Experience chairing design reviews.

Technical authority in design approvals.

Direct experience with systems engineering, model‑based systems engineering, and/or modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Position Criteria

Strong analytical skills covering mechanical design, testing, project management, structural analysis, fluid dynamics, and electrical design.

Strong communication and collaboration with engineering leadership, suppliers, and customers.

Ability to influence without direct reporting relationships.

Identify growth opportunities and nurture them through the Ideation and NPI process.

Engage with business and technology leaders.

High creativity and strategic thinking.

Teach and apply DFSS tools and processes.

Lead product investigations using 8‑D methodology.
