Summary

Our client is one of the largest and most respected structural engineering firms in Southern California. They are currently seeking a Senior Project BIM Designer

to join a dynamic team in

San Diego . This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth, leadership, and engagement in some of the most exciting and complex structural engineering projects in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities

Translate 2D design documents and specifications into 3D models, incorporating 4D (time and sequencing) and 5D (cost and budget) project elements.

Lead the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans for structural engineering projects.

Manage and oversee BIM processes, including 3D modeling, 4D project scheduling, and whole building life cycle assessment (WBLCA).

Utilize BIM to extract material and construction quantities for internal cost estimation and provide real-time budget insights to guide design decisions.

Conduct clash detection and model coordination to resolve interdisciplinary design conflicts.

Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of BIM tools and strategies throughout all project phases.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Revit, clash detection tools, and structural modeling. Experience with 4D construction scheduling and 5D cost estimation is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of structural engineering concepts, building systems, and BIM project coordination.
