Location: Sacramento County, CA. Hybrid Telework. Permanent, Full Time.
Pay: $5,529.00 - $6,922.00 per year. Minimum salary of classification applies.
Job Description & Duties Under general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, Staff Services Manager III, the Deputy Chief Counsel and the Chief Counsel, along with general guidance from the Assistant Chiefs Counsel, the Legal Analyst provides assistance to the Legal Services Division by performing a variety of complex paralegal duties which are analytical in nature to support the legal and management staff, involving all litigation and administrative functions of the Legal Services Division.
The responsibilities include independently performing a full range of varied and complex paralegal duties, providing consultative services to management and attorneys, reviewing, editing, and drafting legal documents, monitoring and tracking Agency contracts, filing court documents, performing legal research, preparing trial exhibits, serving subpoenas, analyzing agency requests, developing strategies, drafting legislation and regulation proposals, monitoring legislation and regulations, assisting the Public Records Act coordinator, creating databases and data extraction systems, and responding to inquiries from high‑level public and private agencies and the public on behalf of the Chief Counsel. Assist with special projects or other duties assigned by higher‑level counsel.
