EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Day Camp Director is responsible for overseeing daily camp operations, ensuring a structured, engaging, and safe environment for all participants.
Supervises and evaluates all camp staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Plans and administers camp programming, activities, and special events.
Conducts staff orientation and weekly meetings to provide training and support.
Oversees the use and maintenance of camp equipment and grounds.
Manages and documents disciplinary actions among campers and staff.
Acts as a liaison between counselors, campers, and parents, providing clear communication and support.
Ensures all health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
Acts as a professional role model, reinforcing the mission and values of the Wellesley Recreation Department.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be certified or willing to become certified in First Aid and CPR.
Minimum of 21 years of age and pursuing or possessing a four-year degree in recreation, physical education, or a related field.
Minimum of one year of supervisory experience, preferably in a camp or youth program setting.
OTHER INFO
Starting Rate: $22.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
Season: June 1 – August 16, 2025
45 hours per week.
