Position Summary This role will be a key member within the Marketplace Partner Payments team with a focus on Payments, Financial Operations and Financial Services for Marketplace Sellers. As a Sr Manager, you will shape and execute the overall vision for payment strategies, financial risk management and seller payments experience. You will lead and develop a high performing team, driving initiatives that protect our P&L by reducing financial risk, and elevate the seller experience at scale.

What you'll do

Develop and implement robust payment risk mitigation frameworks to proactively reduce payment losses and chargebacks by analyzing trends, identifying root causes and driving initiatives to manage losses.

Define and lead payment strategies and measures to proactively identify and mitigate payment risks, including fraud. Partner closely with Seller Risk, Trust & Safety, Data Science and Operations teams to ensure a secure payment ecosystem for sellers.

Partner strategically with the Credit Risk and Billing teams overseeing seller services to proactively manage and reduce overall payment losses. Provide actionable insights and feedback to strengthen risk frameworks to support sustainable seller growth.

Accelerate automation of payment workflows and controls, streamlining payment reconciliation and settlements. Improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enable scalable support for high-growth seller segments and new service launches.

Transform the end‑to‑end seller payments journey, identifying friction points such as payment holds, delays, and cross-border complexities while working with the Business Operations team. Develop and execute comprehensive strategies that simplify processes, improve transparency, and elevate the overall seller payment experience to strengthen marketplace trust.

Collaborate effectively with Product and Tech teams to influence and deliver on payment‑related roadmaps, aligning with business objectives and ensuring seamless execution. Inspire and lead cross‑functional stakeholders toward shared strategic outcomes.

Leverage advanced data analytics to generate actionable insights, empowering your team in developing data‑driven recommendations that shape strategic decisions, optimize payment performance metrics, and drive key outcomes such as prevented losses, false positives, and improved seller NPS.

Lead, mentor, and grow a talented team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and data‑driven decision‑making. Inspire the team to consistently deliver results and support their professional development.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a similar field required.

5+ years of progressive experience preferably in Payments, eCommerce, Risk, Financial Services or a similar space, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or team‑management capacity driving high‑impact programs.

Proven success leading and developing cross‑functional and analytics teams, with demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and build a culture of ownership and high performance.

Advanced understanding of SQL with hands‑on experience working with large‑scale datasets.

Experience with one or more data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.

Exceptional analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, with a proven track record of using data‑driven insights to influence strategic business decisions and deliver measurable results.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge of e‑commerce marketplace platforms, seller payments and financial ecosystems is a plus.

Understanding risk management and fraud prevention in payments is an advantage.

Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 in Bentonville, AR and $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 in Sunnyvale, CA.
