How You’ll Contribute The Senior Sales Engineer (SSE) is a member of the Project Engineering Electronic Security Systems (ESS) team and a supporting contributor to client design projects. The SSE reports directly to the Director of ESS Engineering. The SSE will provide support through the design project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to construction administration support. As a technical resource on a project team, you will be instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with support teams to bring your design to life. Through our groundbreaking workflow, you’ll have access to incredible technology and tools to help you articulate and deliver your design while being supported by global resources.

What You’ll Do

Contributor for complex engagements and works directly with clients and the Design Engineering team to develop specifications, designs, budgets, timelines and manage expectations.

Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.

Provide general guidance on security systems and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of electronic security solutions.

Knowledge of and ability to use AutoCAD, Revit, BIM and/or MS Office 365.

Oversee and/or develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and support documentation.

Ability to interpret 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC drawings during takeoff and team review processes.

Conduct review calls with internal and external teams to discuss BOM(s) and supporting documentation.

Ability to use complex pricing tools and adjust based on specific/changing requirements.

Understanding of IFPs, RFP, and RFQ requirements and schedules and the ability to build labor calculations.

Ability to research and produce security‑related product submittals.

Ability to learn and become proficient with ESS‑related programming matrices.

Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients.

SE may have client interaction and contribute to the P&L performance.

The project lifecycle is important and learning the standards our clients are comfortable with is just as important as selling new technology and solutions where they fit. The position bears the responsibility to develop long‑lasting client partnerships and work with team members to maintain the account at all levels.

Maintains expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums. May author articles and/or analyze trends.

Attend appropriate manufacturer training(s), attend or lead lunch and learn and continue online education.

Represent ESS Engineering in enterprise‑wide initiatives and strategic discussions related to delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Bring Required Skills/Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

8+ years’ experience in system design.

Detail‑oriented, independent, self‑starter.

Exceptional time management skills with a track record for meeting deadlines.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to analyze complex issues and communicate concise, succinct messages.

High level of problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

8+ years of experience in technical system design.

High school diploma or GED required.

Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM, and MS Office 365.

Certifications or training with Milestone and Lenel preferred.

Certifications or training with Genetec, Avigilon, and S2 preferred.

Ability to obtain a government‑issued Top Secret clearance (US‑based only).

A clear understanding of project phases: Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction, and Commissioning.

A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation and integration as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
