Senior Project Manager – Industrial Construction

Join Ross Group as a Senior Project Manager responsible for delivering large industrial construction projects with a focus on quality, schedule, budget, and safety. You will act as the liaison between owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while managing the project from pre‑bid through closeout.

Responsibilities

Actively manage the budget on each project and develop scenarios that enable the project to be completed under budget.

Review the budget at least once a month; determine accuracy of variances and update estimates accordingly.

Consult with COO, VP of Operations, Business Development, and estimating services during the pre‑bid phase.

Attend owner/architect pre‑bid, project, and closeout meetings.

Solicit subcontractors and suppliers for proposals prior to submission.

Review and negotiate contracts with owners and prepare contracts for signature.

Prepare correspondence with owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers (schedules of values, project schedules, memos, RFIs, transmittals).

Submit building permit applications and follow up on progress.

Establish procedures for submitting payments, RFIs, change orders, and submittals.

Proactively manage project to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety – using schedule and document tools to track performance.

Maintain client relationships and conduct project meetings.

Document quality and progress of subcontractors and suppliers.

Inform management of productivity, costs, quality control, document management, and processing of payment applications.

Coordinate closeout requirements with owner, architect, subcontractors, suppliers and Ross Group employees (certificates, insurance, warranties, as‑builts).

Review punch lists prior to commencement and upon completion.

Monitor staffing needs, evaluate performance, and address employee relation issues.

Qualifications

Minimum of 20 years of construction management experience; program management of large, intricate domestic or international projects is a plus.

Knowledge of heavy industrial material handling and processing projects; familiarity with marine logistics is a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Preferred degrees: Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

Proven record of delivering projects on quality, schedule, budget and safety.

Strong planning, leadership, organization and communication skills.

Ability to relocate to project sites if required; willingness to work flexible hours (average of 50 + hours per week).

Proficiency in MS Office, MS Outlook, and Primavera.

Expectations

Ability to manage $15 M‑$100 M per year of projects.

Effectively manage multiple project teams (Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, QC Manager, Site Safety/Health Manager).

Dependability and compliance with attendance guidelines.

Taking initiative and volunteering for additional assignments.

Timely decision‑making and effective communication.

Physical Requirements

Work outdoors in extreme conditions (cold, heat, humidity) on an occasional basis.

Use visual and auditory skills as required.

Stand, climb, bend, and stoop as required on an occasional basis.

Handle rapidly changing priorities to accomplish project goals.
