Are you interested in defining possible? Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate to fill a Systems Test Engineer / Principal Systems Test Engineer position.
This position will be located in Chantilly, VA at the SIGINT Technology Center's (STC). The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission‑focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands‑on build and test, field operations and maintenance, training, and production.
Roles And Responsibilities
Support operations and maintenance of fielded SIGINT systems
Execute test procedures on our System Integration Labs (SILs)
Develop, review, and update documentation including test procedures, reports, etc.
Develop and execute procedures to be executed by others for use in real time operations, OCONUS test sites, and System Integration Labs (SILs)
Support the assembly, test, and documentation for hardware components, software operations, and high‑level systems
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to upgrade and improve developmental and fielded systems to maximize uptime and capabilities
Obtain knowledge of system architecture & mission operations
Extended Responsibilities May Include
Participate in CONUS flight test events.
Develop product and engineering solutions.
Aid in designing systems and test kits.
Basic Qualifications For Systems Test Engineer
Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; Minimum of 0 years with master’s degree; Minimum of 0 Years experience with PhD
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre‑requisite)
A background in system testing with software and hardware integration
Knowledge and familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, specifically the ability to execute in command line and rapidly navigate both operating systems
Experience executing test procedures and writing test reports
Demonstrated experience in documentation and process development
Knowledge of RF and radio communication system components & functions
Experience with networking architecture and Cisco language
Strong interdisciplinary problem‑solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques.

Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline.
Minimum of 5 Years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; Minimum of 3 Years with master’s degree; Minimum of 1 Years experience with PhD
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre‑requisite)
A background in system testing with software and hardware integration
Knowledge and familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, specifically the ability to execute in command line and rapidly navigate both operating systems
Experience executing test procedures and writing test reports
Demonstrated experience in documentation and process development
Knowledge of RF and radio communication system components & functions

Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Experience in cable testing
Proficient with RF test equipment
Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi‑meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.
Knowledge and experience with scripting for automation
Knowledge of system architecture
Knowledge of SIGINT operations
