Job Description Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within the limit of authority. Mentors junior employees.
We are seeking an Extended Handler – Attorney Represented Bodily Injury Adjuster to manage claims in North Carolina and Virginia. This role handles a mix of complexities, primarily soft tissue injuries with some standard fracture cases, but no litigation. Candidates should have 3+ years of BI claims experience and be comfortable managing 15–20 exposures per week. Key Responsibilities
Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases
Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
Handles investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authority
For claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims
Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding other potential property damage
Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
Experience
3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities This job does not have supervisory duties.
Compensation Base compensation offered for this role is:
BI Cons II: $50,700 - $78,570
BI Sr Cons I: $62,800 - $99,190
And is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) if applicable for the role.
