Job Overview Sr PGD Safety Specialist – Power Generation Division (based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with an additional location option in Story County, IA). In this fast‑paced role, you will strategically deploy safety resources and champion our safety culture with considerable autonomy. The position supports 350+ renewable energy sites, including wind, solar, fossil, and battery storage facilities.

Responsibilities

Provide onsite support to power plants for compliance guidance, training, and site assessments.

Partner to develop and implement best practices and proactive initiatives aimed at eliminating injuries and illnesses.

Support programs to achieve an injury‑free lifestyle vision that extends to off‑duty injury prevention.

Drive compliance initiatives, conduct field assessments, deliver impactful presentations, and leverage data analytics to continuously improve safety processes.

Lead safety tactical teams and provide technical guidance on critical procedures.

Mentor colleagues through safety coaching and training while conducting thorough injury analyses to recommend actionable improvements that strengthen our safety management systems.

Build strong partnerships with external regulatory agencies and internal operational teams.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in electric power generation, transmission, and distribution, or comparable industrial environments.

Deep understanding of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.269, 1926), ANSI, and NESC standards.

Proven leadership in safety program development, training delivery, and incident investigations.

Effective communicator able to engage diverse audiences from frontline workers to executive leadership, both in‑person and virtually.

Technical writing skills complemented by proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other digital platforms.

Self‑starter who can influence cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders, identifying field hazards and providing practical mitigation strategies.

Industrial hygiene experience is a welcomed plus.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Safety Engineering/Management or Occupational Health preferred) plus 2+ years in the energy/utility sector, OR a minimum of 8 years of experience (preferably a minimum of 5 years of safety experience plus 3 years of other applicable experience).

CSP and/or CIH certifications are highly valued.

Travel: up to 25% across U.S. PGD renewable sites and occasionally Canada.

Requirements: 2+ years of experience, no supervisor/management experience required.
