Responsibilities
Manage café staff: promote a positive work environment, encourage engagement, motivation, and productivity. Hire, coach, train and develop staff at the location; set clear expectations and monitor progress.
Collaborate with HR to address people issues; embody La Farm values through action, example, and communication: Exceed Customer Expectations, Quality, Dignity, Community, Learning, Teaching, and Innovation.
Ensure product freshness and presentation. Engage verbally with each customer and effectively sell through product quality and presentation.
Increase sales to meet and exceed company goals. Achieve sales, food cost and expense objectives. Maximize sales through café atmosphere, du jour features, and consistent product quality and presentation. Provide superior customer service and act as Brand Ambassador.
Assist Operations Manager in directing, controlling, and executing bakery operations per La Farm systems, policies, and procedures.
Manage labor schedules to meet objectives for café.
Enforce staff training and certification requirements.
Maintain system execution and ticket times, oversee FOH and BOH, uphold safety and sanitation goals and policies.
Maintain health and sanitation inspection standards (grade “A” or better).
Control overall café atmosphere – lighting, music, cleanliness; oversee repair and maintenance of facility.
Order food products, maintain accurate reporting (sales, production schedules, waste sheet, ticket times, facility R&M).
Forecast, oversee, and manage food/product costs, labor costs, and other controllable costs to adhere to budget while increasing productivity and efficiency.
Handle cash and ensure safe access.
Address staff questions, grievances, and concerns; elevate to senior management as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous food service management experience is a MUST.
Analytical ability and math proficiency to monitor profitability, process, and analyze financial information of daily operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to solve business related problems quickly and efficiently.
Excellent organizational skills (detail oriented, goal oriented, follow through).
Great relationship building skills and a positive demeanor as a team player.
Exceptional customer service skills and a sense of urgency to serve every customer.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multitask.
Flexibility required: Weekends required, holiday work required, two days off (not consecutive).
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
Physical Demands
Ability to bend and lift 50 lbs.
Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
